Pop Up Store | Marylebone Village | London

In 2021, PLATFORM store acquired a prime location at 21-28 St Christopher in London. This marked the brand’s fifth edition of pop-ups across Mayfair and Marylebone Village.

The turnaround for the project, from receiving the keys to opening the store, took just three weeks.

The store previously belonged to the shoe brand Kurt Geiger. Architectural features like the arched ceiling and the red counter are part of the original design, along with wall-to-wall mirror cladding spanning across both floors.

Given the limited time to fit out the store for opening, we kept many original features and worked around them.

The extensive use of mirrors could disturb future clients and staff working long hours. We decided to cover some mirrors with curtains while leaving others exposed to benefit the new store.

The store showcases fashion, home, and art brands, with fashion as the main focus. We allocated the entire ground floor to clothing and fashion accessories, designing clothing rails and bespoke adaptable shelving for accessories.

We also created an adaptable window display system for merchandise in the front windows.

As in the previous store, we allocated identical display tables across the main floor that could be rearranged to meet ever changing needs of the store. This layout worked well for Platform as it was versatile and allowed verity of merchandises to be displayed and paired together that was visually appealing.

The raised ground floor featured brands offering home accessories and art, with hanging displays for these collections.

We carried out all the graphic and branding work required.

The store became inviting and engaging. PLATFORM initially acquired the space for a few months but ended up staying nearly two years.

The unwanted mirrors that we inherited and could not cover made photographing the store challenging, as reflections diminished the value of many wonderful views our eyes could see in person.
