BEHIND THE NAME
“Kando" is a Persian word meaning honeycomb. Honeycombs are formed from hexagons-an efficient structure that creates strength while using minimal material.
We chose the name because it reflects how we approach design: considered, resilient, and purposeful. Like a honeycomb, our work is structured without feeling rigid, expressive without excess, and designed to support life over time.
OUR JOURNEY TO TODAY
Our Story
In 2020, I founded Kando Interiors and Architectural Design Studio in London. The studio was born from a desire to create spaces that are considered, thoughtful, and deeply connected to the people who use them. Kando is also a platform for curiosity-bringing together spaces, stories, and cultures through design and collaboration.
People sit at the centre of our work. Every project begins with connection: understanding how you live, move, and interact with space. Design, for us, starts with listening.
We look closely at space, colour, material, and objects in relation to how they are used and experienced. Rather than working within a fixed style, our interiors evolve from ideas developed collaboratively-responding to your goals, ambitions, and the life the space is meant to support.
We’re interested in questioning familiar aesthetics and finding new, meaningful perspectives.
Before founding Kando, I gained experience at Foster + Partners, working on large-scale international projects including resorts, high-rise towers, and mixed-use developments. My work there included Serrenia, a luxury lifestyle development in Egypt, Kenny Heights in Malaysia, and New Holland Island in Russia. That background informs our approach today: considered, rigorous, and thoughtful-applied at a human scale.
Based in West London, Kando specialises in residential and retail interiors across the city and its surrounding areas. We value collaboration and work closely with clients and creative partners to ensure each project feels aligned, personal, and purposeful.
