Brief – A trade stand design for Natural Stone Show in London
We were asked by a member of our family, who is a quarry owner and manufacturer of natural stone from Iran to design a trade stand for them for Natural Stone Show in Doha, Qatar.
This was a very last minute project and one that I am very happy with. I was flown to Doha urgently, having no time to design prior to leaving, but use the time on the plane to sketch my ideas. Upon landing I got picked up by contractor and headed to their office and was given one hour to discuss the project, CAD draw and provide an idea of quantities of material require to start on site the very next day.
Next seven days spent onsite overseeing the work taking shape. Client had issues with shipping company delivering the goods onsite in time, and you can see on the floor there are areas that not the contractor did not manage to finish and filled it with landscaping gravels. But that did not matter as the overall scheme was very successful.
The plot was a corner plot, and the variety of materials to show was vast. We optend to showcase most of the stone slabs on pillars, where both sides could be used for display. The onyx slabs were integrated into backlit wall to show their beauty and pattern best.
